For as long as I can remember, I’ve suffered with dry skin and eczema, everywhere. It flares up quite often so I clearly don’t have it completely under control, but these are some of the products I find keep it at bay best, and are lovely to use in the middle of a flare up.

 Aveno Daily Moisturising Lotion:
I’ve used this now for about a year, and I absolutely swear by it and recommend it to people all the time, I was told by my doctor to use it, and I did for a while but didn’t connect with it, years later when I tried again, it helped my skin immensely, it’s not one of those really thick, quenching moisturisers that I look forward to using in the morning and evenings.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2%:
I know the sound of putting acid on your skin sounds slightly terrifying, but it turns out hyaluronic acid is naturally found in the skin and is a great thing to have in your moisturisers if you suffer from dry skin. This is my second bottle of this now and I still love it just as much, I put it on before any moisturisers, press it into the skin(this makes a huge difference from rubbing it in!) and then slap on loads of lotion when it’s still tacky.

Burt’s Bees Sensitive Eye Cream:
Around the eyes is such a delicate area and requires a little extra care. I get super flaky skin on my eyelids and around my eyebrows, very annoying for when I’m trying to practice crazy eye makeup looks!, I do find that aveno works to help the dry skin around my eyes, but I just feel that an eye cream is a better choice, I’m hoping I’ll appreciate it in 10 years time! This Burt’s Bees one is a lovely natural option, in my opinion 😊

A Dewy, Hydrating Foundation:
There’s nothing worse than doing a full face of makeup, looking in the mirror and finding your foundation has clung on to every little dry patch for dear life. Always moisturise straight before applying makeup, but another way to help out to avoid those dry patches is to use a foundation specifically for dry skin, steer clear of any foundation with ‘matte’ in the title! I’ve only used this one by L’Oréal a few times, but already I can tell it does the job perfectly!  This is the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro Glow Longwear Foundation in ‘202 Creamy Natural’.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Moisturiser:
Luckily, in the summer months my skin doesn’t tend to be as dry, so for when it’s calm, I use a lighter moisturiser, like this Neutrogena water based one, this feels lovely and cooling to apply on warm days when you’re already a little bit oily from sweat, but still feels moisturising at the same time. I also like to switch back to this one occasionally, just because I find breaking the pattern of moisturisers can be beneficial in getting them to work to their full capacity!

Sheet masks/Lip masks:
As well as a good skincare routine, a face/lip mask can work wonders on occasion. I find sheet masks are usually the best for moisture! As well as a dry face and body, I also get really dry lips, especially over winter. Of course a good lip balm is needed but I recently found out lip masks can be really soothing! Anything jammed full of serums is always going to be appealing to me! This is the Beautyblvd Devine Hydra-Gel Lip Mask.
